LMHS Mini-THON

Co-Captain of Tech Committee, 2012-2014

Helping to fight pediatric cancer

Lower Moreland High School Mini-THON is an official part of Penn State Dance Marathon (THON), the largest student-run philanthropy organization in the world. During the two years I was co-captain of the Tech Committee, we raised over $200,000, with all proceeds going to help fight pediatric cancer at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center. LMHS Mini-THON is an annual, 12-hour, no-sitting event, inviting anyone from the high school to participate. The motto of THON is "FTK" - "For The Kids." In everything we do, the kids battling cancer are our inspiration.

As a Tech Captain, I was a leader of the Tech Committee. We managed the website, the setup of all audio and video equipment, the livestream of the event, and worked with other committees to make videos to promote Mini-THON. Along with directing the team, my personal contribution included creating these karaoke videos for the Line Dances, which all dancers at the event sang along to every hour.
